I jumped when I first saw this price and the lens is ok but not top quality professional, which costs alot more. you need to get very close to your subject, about 2″ away to get it in focus. maybe it’s my camera (Nikon D40) but I couldn’t get this to work the way I wanted. I’m reminded of the old adage “you get what you pay for.”

I Live How for $20 you Can Turn your lens macro. I Took it out the box it had a nice Case to keep it came with a lens cloth. screwed on my 18-55mm Nikon D60 and it allowed me to take pics really close with out taking forever to focus there for getting real close on the object I’m trying to capture. Without it in order for my camera to focus I usually have to back up and backing up sort of defeats the purpose of taking a Macro Shot.
The build is Real sturdy. Made From Metal not plastic. I highly Recommend it to any one who has a 52mm grove on their lens. Most Definitely not a Waste of Money. I have purchase Opteka (wireless Remote Nikon d60) Before and I’m Very Satisfied with the brand

I recently purchased this lens mainly because of other reviews I read of the product. I enjoy random macro imagery and read this would be perfect for beginners with macro. And it is. I saw other products that came with different magnifications, which required a different lens per how many times you wanted to magnify and I felt that was just too much right now. For me, an average photographer, it so far creates great macro that I’m looking for. I’m not looking for the best, its great for a right now product to learn the ways of macro before getting something more expensive. The price was great, which at the time I bought it, it was $26. I will put up some pictures (if i can figure it out) but I will also leave my photography site for examples of how this lens works.
The only negative I see, is that you sometimes have to physically move back and forth to get the picture clear. It is better to switch the camera to manual instead of auto. Auto tends to keep focusing and not catch the image as clear as you need to. Doing it manually will give you a clear image that you need. That is the only setback I see. The best thing I like is how it comes in a bag that I can easily carry with me, its like a filter.
I very much enjoy this product, hopefully this helps. Its cheap, great for beginning in macro. The price could be worse.

I’m relatively new to photography (I purchased a Nikon D40 about a year ago) so I’m always on the lookout for a good deal on new equipment to play with. This purchase definitely did not disappoint! A simple little lens that can provide some amazing detail! For amateurs like me, you can’t beat the price for this great little gem. I’m having a great time exploring my new macro world!

This lens is an excellent way to get into macro-photography without the high cost of a macro lens. Since the standard lens for these Nikons is a zoom, you have quite a bit of flexibility. I have a macro zoom lens besides this and I prefer this. Definitely worth the money.
