If you’re the type who wants the latest gadgets, who wants it all kind of person then by all means go for it. I was considering the sb-800, but nikon has discontinued it’s production therefore the sb-900 is the replacement. no doubt it’s the biggest, baddest flash ever by nikon.

I’ve heard that Nikon has fixed the overheating problem in the SB900. Does anyone know for sure if this is true or not? I have been debating back and forth between the SB800 and the SB900, but would really like the SB900. Help!

i remember the price on these SB-900 back then when were only $300.00 with free shipping… now the cost is almost to $500.00!!? i waited around because i was hearing a lot of bad comments on how this thing shut down in the middle of shoot. like weddings and stuff… so i thought and observed a lil bit more time that more people would comment and review on the SB-900. and from there i can make my final decision on getting one. now that i’m ready to pick one up, the price is just ridiculously too high now. i usually have seen electronics goes down in price after several months but this one just went up in cost. what is up with that?

The SB-900 flash is a definite improvement over the SB-800. Beach Camera service was fast and efficient – and reasonable priced too.

My initial evaluation of this flash gun is quite positive This unit is easy to use with huge and endless potentials. The menu system is very intuitive typical of nikon and I like the possibility of using this as master & remote making SU800 CLS functionality quite redundant. Over heating has not been an issue for me at least at this time and I can see myself using this flash more often than not…..
