  1. I shopped and researched for many weeks before pulling the trigger on this pack. This pack was certainly reasonably priced when compaired to the other quality packs on the market and I was a little leary of it for that reason. However, when it arrived my anxiety was releived. This pack is truly an ape case (would take an ape to tear this thing up)…very well constructed using quality material and padding, customizable. Be sure you need a pack this large, this is a BIG pack. I just didn’t need this much room so I returned it for the 1800 model, which is quite a bit smaller but with the same quality build. I wish they had a size between the 2000 and the 1800. If you carry lots of gear, the 2000 pack will perform quite well. For the life of me I can’t understand why anyone would spend the extra bucks on the other brands, this pack is a beast!

  2. I’m a wedding / portrait / nature photographer who tends to have to take just about all of my gear to any gig. Locations vary quite a bit, so I wanted something to hold all of my camera gear, plus my laptop and possibly a few computer accessories.

This bag can hold a TON of gear. It’s incredibly well-padded, there are over a dozen loops and hooks to strap on extra accessories to the shoulder straps and exterior of the bag. It’s very sturdy, comfortable to wear (depending on how much weight you put on the thing, of course – the extra 40 pounds I toss in it makes my bike ride to the office a bit daunting :D ) and has a great rain-fly that stores in the bottom of it.

The only drawback is that this is not a bag you can get into very quickly. But it’s not meant to be.

If you want a bag that you can slip around you and grab your camera at a moment’s notice, go for one of those lowepro slingbacks. If, however, you want something that can carry several cameras with battery grips, a handful of lenses, flashes, a laptop, three tripods or lighting stands plus all the manuals, filters, batteries, chargers and cords… Then this is the bag for you. And for the cost – I couldn’t find anything comparable with this much storage and protection.

  3. This is the biggest backpack I have ever seen, not even the think tank airport roller or whatsoever. This has room for everything you have, fron 2 bodies DSLR, several lenses, batteries, chargers, monopod, tripod, etc. This is the best you can get for the money.

Do not hesitate, this is the right bag for you. If you have back problems, look for the roller model, the same but with wheels.

    I simply recomend it!!!

  4. I bought this backpack from last month. I think it big and good enough for a trip. It can carry my Mac book G4 14” and a lot of space for camera and lenses. It also have nice rain cover under the backpack.

  5. I have had the Ape Case Pro Backpack for about six months. I pack (3) Canon camera bodies with battery grips, (3) lenses, a flash unit, extra batteries and accessories.

The bag fits and protects everything very well. The only problem I’ve had is the top seam started to separate. I brought the bag to an upholstery shop and they sewed it up as good as new.

Other than not being able to handle the shear weight of all the equipment it is designed to handle, the bag has been extremely reliable and I couldn’t live without it. Shooting over 30,000 images per month, I need to be prepared for whatever my assignments require, sometimes on a moments notice.
